Sunday School is an important part of Hickory Street! Children ages two through high school are welcome to join us each Sunday! Weekly lesson are presented in both small and large group settings that nurture and encourage the children’s faith development and understanding of the Bible. Classes begin in September and end in early June, but new registrants are welcome at any time!
Sunday School is held each Sunday in the Maurer Center from 9:15 until 10:30 AM. A typical Sunday includes a whole group welcome before children report to their respective classes for the Bible lesson. The Pre-School class reports to its respective room for a lesson, craft and activities specific to their unique needs. Children in Kindergarten through fifth grade report to their classrooms for a Bible lesson in small groups, followed by Arts and Crafts and finally Music as a larger group. All lessons and activities are biblically-based on the week’s shared theme.
Older youth in grades six through twelve meet separately to further explore their faith through lively discussions, interactive activities, dramatic interpretations, and more!
No matter the age, Sunday School at Hickory Street is fun and enjoyed by the children and teachers alike!
"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
